Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. John Quincy Adams II!

October 4, 2008

Yes, that is their real name! What a wonderful family and an amazing couple! This past Saturday, Jodi and John officially became the new Mr. and Mrs. Adams!

Their special garden ceremony took place at the Pasadena Community Church in St. Petersburg. With 100 white garden chairs set around the water fountain in the rose garden, Jodi and John created a very intimate environment where they could share their vows with their loved ones. As the bridal party entered the garden, you could hear “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” playing in the background. “Canon in D” softly introduced the bride, Jodi as she walked gracefully down the aisle with her grandfather. It was beautiful and magical all together with God, the trees and the family all there to share in this sacred moment.

The reception took place at the Gulfport Casino, which by nightfall was a gorgeous site! It rested on the beach with a boardwalk surrounding the place. The weather cooperated and the air was fresh and inviting. The room was illuminated by candlelight and subtle pink accent lighting. The tables were dressed in chocolate pintuck linens. In the center of the table sat a vase of curly willow branches blooming with cherry blossoms that the bride designed herself. The reception was full of tiny details that the bride created herself. The guestbook was handmade with lovely versus’ of love on each page. The favors were little gift bags filled with personalized fortune cookies and chopsticks that were decorated with cherry blossoms. Jodi had a special place to remember her mother with a single vase resting a white rose and a photograph of her mother from her wedding day. It was a beautiful moment.

All of the families enjoyed a spectacular dinner prepared by Amici’s Catered Cuisine. The guests had their choice of Chicken Marsala, Filet Diane or Vegetable Pasta Alfredo. The food was delicious and filling! The staff from Amici’s was incredible! Diana and her crew accommodated all 116 guests quickly and efficiently. It was a pleasure to work with Diana and her crew! Jodi and John’s cake was a masterpiece from Cakes by Carolynn. The cake was decorated with branches bursting in cherry blossoms! It was beautiful! At cake cutting time, Diana and her crew were back again and busy as bees getting the cake cut and distributed to the guests. Tony Lange, the DJ from Grant Hemond got the guests up and dancing to the Electric Slide, the Chicken Dance and Grease the Remix. Jodi and John shared their first dance to "Anyone Else But You" by Maldy Peaches from the Juno soundtrack. John danced with his mother to “In My Life” but the Beatles and Jodi danced with her grandfather to “Through the Years” by Kenny Rogers.

The night ended and everyone who still wanted to celebrate headed to O’Maddy’s! It was a great day and night for Jodi and John who now begin each day together as husband and wife! I was delighted to be a part of their family for one special day! (Pictures soon to follow)

A big thank you to all of the incredible vendors who made this magical moment!

SURPRISE! Happy 40th Birthday Bobby Jr!

September 13, 2008

I had the rare opportunity to witness an incredible person today! I helped plan a 40th surprise birthday party for Bobby Jr. After the SURPRISE moment went off without a hitch, the room was filled with so much love and admiration for this one man. It was touching to hear his wife, his children and the rest of his family talk about him and his accomplishments in the last 40 years! The room was full of emotions, all of the good happy ones that bring tears to your eyes. The night ended with the family dancing and having a great time together!

As the planner, I coordinated all of the details for the party from decorations to the invitations. We created a tribute wall to Bobby, with 2 huge 4 and 0 balloon sculptures, a banner and lots of precious photos of him through out his life that hung from ribbon. My centerpiece design was 3 framed photos of Bobby at different times of his life that sat in a triangular shape around a candle that illuminated the pictures and really made them stand out. It was beautiful and masculine all at the same time! Of course, we also included some of Bobby’s all time favorite treats, which are Snickers, Smarties and gumballs! It was a great party!

It is these moments that make me feel so privileged and honored to get a glimpse into someone else’s life. I truly value these experiences! Thank you!

A great job to all of the vendors that made this party a success!

Meeting Heather Snively!

September 2, 2008

I recently had the honor to meet Heather Snively with Weddings Unique at an incredible networking event hosted by Aymee Sutterby with Brides.com and Florida Brides (which you can find me in both!) The event was held at Hunter’s Green Country Club, with Gretchen Hill as their Private Events Director. It was a fabulous turnout with a room full of top professionals, in photography, videography, caterers, florists and event planners to name a few! Ian Prosser from Botanica International (a top notch florist!) joined Heather Snively as they shared some of their most special events and insight on what it means to be a top professional in this exciting industry. It was inspiring!
